‘Dream Transfer’ used the elitism of the UK’s multi-million-pound football transfer window to reinforce eBay’s reputation as the people's marketplace. By doing so we dramatically landed eBay’s point of difference to market superpower, Amazon. 

Our big idea was to allow football fans up and down the country to make their own ‘Dream Transfer’ by bidding on eBay for two footballing legends, Roberto Carlos and Eni Aluko, to play for their local Sunday League teams.   

By working with Sky Sports and Joe Media to mimic the tropes of the typical transfer window pandemonium, we gained unprecedented media coverage, and helped increase purchase intent on eBay by an incredible 269%.  https://vimeo.com/793114519/b7e8e0e4bf
