2019 was a transformational and busy year for Reach Solutions. Following the acquisition of Northern & Shell, we had to launch as a new media owner, taking the Reach brand and our fresh sales story to agencies and clients. We needed to improve and invest in our products and ensure our vast, complicated portfolio was easy to buy for our customers. With digital growth a key objective, our strategy was
to innovate and diversify to grow our online offering. We also had to find new ways to protect falling print advertising revenues. All of this with a new team in place, volatile trading conditions and challenging revenue targets to meet! We focused on telling our story through the most interesting and influential members of our business; our senior editorial team. We improved the Northern & Shell brands by listening to customer and reader feedback. We went after new formats in print to protect declining ad revenues.
We launched new digital brands in regions we didn’t reach. We created a brand safety tool to help publishers grow their share of digital marketing budgets. And we delivered exceptional commercial performance, growing total revenues YOY.
